Default UW Runs

Which is more profitable. Solo or dual runs?

I'd say Solo, as you get all drops. But you know, there's the deaths too.

I should restate that. Which is more effective for someone who is trying to get FoW armor. And uses a 600hp build.

Your HP doesn't really matter for Spirit Bond, unless you duo with a Retribution/Holy Wrath Monk for damage. Duo is usually faster, and over time, you will get much more loot. Solo, you of course keep everything, but it can take longer. I'd say go duo with friends and/or guildies, otherwise solo.

Agree with mister B, its true solo you do keep all drops but it will take you MUCH longer to complete a basic smite run solo than it will to complete 2 full runs duo with a smiter. Time = Money. Overall it works out finantially better to dual,. (Not to mention much safer with Spellbreaker and rebirth on your side)

I got all the ecto for my FoW armor doing 2-man runs. It took like a month.

Agreed with others, duo runs are the best way to do it, but if you are going as a SB monk, lower your health to about 300 or below for a more reliable run and let the SS/Famine Ranger/Holy Wrath monk do the dmg.

Err I must disagree.

If you're planing to kill everything, yes solo runs are MUCH longer. But if you focus on one thing (solo smite run with a famine ranger for example), then it's longer than with a 55hp but not 2 times longer (but you have twice more drops). However I can't deny it's much harder.

Is it possible to do an UW dual with a standard spirit bonder build with spell breaker as the elite and an SS necro.

Thumbs up

I just recently started Soloing UW. Each run I kill basically anything that the usual UW Dual would take, Axes, smites, NM, but not colds. Each run takes about 15-25 mins and I usually get about 1-2 ectos a run. Grand total of 3 days (2 hrs each day) of soloing, 18 ectos. I perfer soloing, you don't have to split ectos and don't have to count on anyone else (especially noobies) to keep you alive.

Solo = All drops.
Group = Half drops.

I think this is common sense.

A slight oversimplification since the factor of time or cost of failed runs is not taken into account. Nice try tho.

solo may be all nice but i would prefer duoing for a dual sb monk build. You lose alot of money on entrance fees and is usually easier to mess up on solo runs. Duo runs are alot easier as you only have to do half the job and pay half the entrance fee.

Heh. I was thinking about that just now.

Well, when running Underworld solo you would have to pay full cost (1k).
It would also take longer depending on your solo build and char vs. group build.

But failed runs, I think, shouldn't be a factor. If you've done the run over and over and are considered for lack of another term a 'pro' at the runs then you won't be failing too many runs, if any.

I'll also throw in the factor of luck in both solo and group runs.

ex:

55/SS

The SS gets lucky and gets an Ecto on the run and you get squat but have spent less time on the run.

vs.

Solo Build

You don't get an Ecto from the run and have spend more time on it.
(But then there is also a much greater chance of you getting an Ecto.)

yes you can.

don't forget elemental resistance for graspings and coldires (coldfires won't deal 60+dmg wand anyway, so why take more where you can take less instead?)

Frenzy does work with spirit bond. But you have to cast in this order: Frenzy, Protective Spirit, Spirit Bond.

I'd go with Ele resistance.
